Terms and conditions

Competition terms and conditions:

1. The competition is open to all primary, secondary and sixth form pupils in the UK that have registered with the eTwinning website: www.etwinning.net.

2. All entries must be accompanied by a completed online entry form.

3. Only a maximum of 10 entries per school will be accepted - this can be either as individual items or collaborative artwork. Only one entry per pupil.

4. Only computer-generated artwork in jpeg or tiff format, 1Mb or less in size, will be accepted. Any other formats or larger file sizes will be disqualified.

5. By entering the competition, the submitting member of staff agrees that the entry is the own original work of the pupils.

6. The closing date for receipt of all entries is midnight September 15 2010. Any entries that arrive after this date will not be considered.

7. Responsibility cannot be accepted for entries that are incomplete, delivered wrongly, corrupt, damaged or those not received for whatever reason. Evidence of entering is not proof of receipt.

8. Entries will only be accepted electronically via the website www.etwinning-competition.com

9. The prizes will be awarded to the entrants whose entries, in the opinions of the judges, best meet the judging criteria. The criteria are based on the eTwinning philosophy and all birthday card artwork must be original.

10. The panel of judges will include at least one member who is independent of The British Council. The judges' decision is final and binding, and no correspondence will be entered into.

11. There is no cash alternative to the stated prizes. The British Council reserves the right to substitute the prize for one of greater or equal value should circumstance make this necessary. Proof of age may be required before prizes are awarded.

12. Winner will be notified by telephone by a member of the eTwinning team, the week commencing 4 October 2010

13. The winning entries become copyright of The British Council and may be used for display, promotional and marketing purposes. The winners and their educational establishments may be required to take part in publicity resulting from this competition.

14. A list of winners and winning entries will be available after 4 October 2010. Send an SAE to eTwinning Competition Results, PO Box 54696 London N16 7ZL.

15. The British Council regrets that it is unable to return entries. Please do not send an SAE for the return of entries.
